Acceptance of Terms
By using Canvas Tasks ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, you may not use the Service.
Service Description
The Service is a web application that helps with task management, idea organization, and goal setting. Users can create and manage tasks, record ideas, and plan daily activities.
User Accounts
Account creation is required to use the Service. Keep your account information accurate and your password secure. You are responsible for all activities under your account.
Pricing and Payment
The Service offers a free plan and a subscription-based paid plan (Pro Plan: ¥980/month, tax included). Payments are processed through Stripe, Inc. via credit card. Prices are subject to change with prior notice.
Free Trial
Registered users can start a 14-day free trial that unlocks all Pro features at any time (the trial is not granted automatically). No credit card is required, and the trial does not auto-convert to a paid plan. After the trial ends, Pro-only features (repeating tasks/events, time tracking, reports, well-being, vacation mode, pomodoro timer, break blocks, phase editing, etc.) become read-only and cannot be created or edited. To continue using these features, please upgrade to the Pro plan. To prevent abuse, we keep a per-email-address (normalized hash) record of trial usage. Once a trial has been started for an email address, the same address cannot start a new one. The Service may restrict accounts that repeatedly attempt to obtain new trials by changing email addresses or using disposable addresses.
Advertising
Once you have made a choice (accept or decline) on the cookie consent banner, free-plan users 14 or more days after registration may see ads in parts of the screen. Until you have responded to the cookie consent banner, no ad slots are displayed. If you have allowed the "Marketing" cookie category, personalized ads may be served. If you have not allowed it, only non-personalized (contextual) ads are served. You can change your ad consent at any time from the settings screen. Upgrading to the Pro plan removes all ads. Ads may be served by us or by third-party ad providers including Google AdSense and may include our own Pro promotional banners.
Automatic Renewal
Paid plans are automatically renewed on a monthly basis. You will be charged automatically on the same date each month. To stop automatic renewal, please cancel your subscription before the next billing date.
Cancellation
You can cancel your paid plan by following these steps: 1. After logging in, open the Settings page 2. Select the "Subscription" tab 3. Click the "Manage Plan & Cancel" button 4. Complete the cancellation in the Stripe Customer Portal After cancellation, you can continue using the service until the end of the current billing period. Due to the nature of digital services, refunds are generally not provided after service delivery has begun, except where required by applicable law.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited: • Violating any laws • Harassing other users • Disrupting normal service operation (including excessive automated access) • Unauthorized access or hacking • Reverse engineering or disassembling the Service • Reselling the Service or its content • Unauthorized commercial use
Use by Minors
Minors must obtain consent from a legal guardian before using the Service. Purchases of paid plans must be made by or with the consent of a legal guardian.
Exclusion of Anti-Social Forces
Users represent and warrant that they are not members of anti-social forces (organized crime groups, their members, affiliated companies, etc.) and have no relationship with such forces. If found to be associated with anti-social forces, the Service may suspend or delete accounts without prior notice.
Intellectual Property
Intellectual property rights for the Service's software, design, logos, and other content belong to the Service or its licensors. Rights to content you create remain yours, but you grant us a license to use it as needed to provide the Service.
Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is." We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding completeness, accuracy, reliability, or fitness for a particular purpose. The Service shall not be liable for: • Loss or corruption of data arising from use of the Service • Service interruptions caused by failures of external services (Firebase, Stripe, etc.) • Service interruptions caused by network or computer failures
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the Service.
Liability Cap
If the Service is found liable for damages, the total amount of liability shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to the Service during the six (6) months immediately preceding the date the damage occurred. For users on the free plan, the liability cap shall be zero.
AI Features
The Service may add AI (artificial intelligence) features in the future. Please note the following regarding AI features: • The accuracy and completeness of AI-generated output is not guaranteed • External AI services (including APIs) may be used, and some input data may be transmitted to such external services • Users are responsible for any decisions or actions based on AI-generated output
Termination
The Service reserves the right to terminate or modify the service at any time without prior notice. Accounts may be suspended or deleted without notice for violations of these terms.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes relating to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court.
Changes to Terms
These Terms of Service may be changed as needed. We will notify you of significant changes through the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
